It used to be a popular practice for offshore companies registered in tax havens to own
domestically incorporated companies. In view of the recent international, European, and, not
least, domestic practices, we do not recommend the establishment of offshore company
networks. Not only the tax authorities, but also business partners, immediately become
suspicious when they learn about the offshore element.
In the case of a successful, profitable company, the company takes on the risk, and makes
investments, and functions as a kind of “flagship” entity.
Instead of offshore companies, we recommend creating domestic or at least European Union-
based company combinations, where our team of lawyers will be at your disposal. When your
company operates with a significant profit, it is advisable to establish additional companies for
the implementation of specific projects. This prevents the flagship entity from making a loss on a
potentially less successful transaction.
